At Wiremind, listening to our clients and meeting their unique needs are our top priorities. As such, customer feedback directly impacts our approach to product development and shapes our strategy when improving solutions.

This is particularly apparent in the UX/UI design function. For us, great UX/UI design is not just about aesthetics - it’s about making sure our products are accessible, useful, and enjoyable to use. Our designers work side-by-side with developers, product managers, and users to build experiences that feel intuitive and solve the right problems.

Recently, we spoke with two of our UX/UI designers, Doriane Chrétien, Senior UX/UI Designer for CAYZN & CAYZN Tracking, and Morgane Nurdin, UX/UI Designer on the EVENTORI team, to learn more about their day-to-day, their journeys at Wiremind, and how the UX/UI function is helping drive our growth.

Doriane Chrétien, Senior UX/UI Designer for CAYZN & CAYZN Tracking

Since joining Wiremind in 2022, Doriane has played a key role in building out the UX/UI function at Wiremind. She’s worked across multiple products, creating the Design System for EVENTORI and PAXONE, and is currently leading the Design System change for CAYZN and CAYZN Tracking. Read on to get a glimpse into what her role entails, learn more about her user-centered design approach, and her journey to Senior UX/UI Designer at Wiremind.

A Peak into Her Daily Work

In your day-to-day work, how do you collaborate with product managers, developers, and other teams? How do you make design decisions, and what tools do you use?

Our product managers are my main points of contact, particularly for understanding the product and knowing all the ins and outs of a feature, as they are the experts. They have a very good knowledge of our clients, their professions, and the market. I rely on their expertise to work from the data they provide me.

Then, I may interact with the developers to evaluate the feasibility or technical complexity of certain solutions. During the development phase, they might reach out to me for clarifications on the mockups or request adjustments to simplify development. I also report any discrepancies between what has been developed and the original mockups.

I design using Figma, trying to respect core UX/UI principles while also considering the specific technical constraints of the application and our user profiles. We work on B2B solutions for which specific needs are expected and to which we pay close attention.

And of course, I adhere to our Design System. We then review the prototypes together with the product managers and Chief Product Officer, based on their business expertise, to adjust them if needed before development. This is followed by potential iteration phases to fine-tune certain elements.

Meeting User Needs with a Data-Driven Approach

What is most important when you are designing a solution that is intuitive, useful, and visually appealing for our customers?

To me, the most important thing is the end user: ensuring the product effectively meets a need, is accessible and easy to use, that the user doesn’t have to overthink things, and that friction points are minimized.

Wiremind has always taken particular care to build a product that reflects its users by staying attentive to them and drawing on extensive industry experience in the fields we work in.

When trying to anticipate our clients needs, which types of data inform your decision making? Do you rely on user data, feedback, support tickets, prior experience, or other things?

User data is mainly provided by the product managers who have long-standing contact with users and understand their behaviors. The information they provide helps refine my understanding of our target users and shapes my design decisions.

Over time, some decisions become almost obvious because we know our users well. Some members of our teams are themselves users of our products and therefore regularly share valuable feedback to improve workflows and interfaces. Others have previously been in the position of our users, working daily with similar products, and thus have strong market experience that enables us to align our vision closely with user needs.

Other decisions require more thought and testing. I also rely on core principles of accessibility and visual consistency to make the interface pleasant and easy to use.

We work iteratively: creating a new view based on hypotheses and collecting user feedback to refine the solution. Recently, a User Group was organized with our CAYZN clients, allowing me to meet some of our users and better understand them. The various workshops conducted will help us refine user profiles and compile data on their needs and feedback.

Spearheading Design System Changes

You are currently leading the Design System change for CAYZN and CAYZN Tracking. What is the significance behind this change, and why is it happening now?  How does your experience with creating the design system for PAXONE and EVENTORI influence your current approach?

CAYZN and CAYZN Tracking have existed for a long time and are major products at Wiremind, well-appreciated by our clients. With my arrival, and after working on EVENTORI and PAXONE, the idea was to bring a fresh visual touch to CAYZN and harmonize the entire application.

Having a well-established Design System ensures product consistency by eliminating visual inconsistencies that could clutter the interface and disrupt user habits. At this stage, CAYZN didn’t aim for a complete redesign or the creation of new views, unlike EVENTORI and PAXONE, but rather for customization to make the app more pleasant and cohesive.

It wasn’t about deconstructing everything but standardizing components and giving it a unique visual identity aligned with the new logo. I made some changes to the views when I felt the UX could be improved in terms of interaction design, hierarchy, data visualization, clarity, and accessibility.

My work on the UI Kit for EVENTORI was based on a developer-used Design System library that differed from the one used by the PASSENGER product family. When switching to CAYZN with a more flexible library, I had more freedom in defining, customizing, and adapting the new UI Kit components to integrate them into appropriate designs.

Moving from project to project, I gained experience by avoiding past mistakes, being more efficient, better anticipating component states, and enhancing modularity. I also revised how I prepare UI Kits to better anticipate future changes, saving time and increasing responsiveness. I developed it gradually as I redesigned views, to test and fine-tune the UI Kit to best meet needs.

Shaping the UX/UI Function at Wiremind

How has your role evolved since you joined Wiremind?

I joined Wiremind as a Designer and Graphic Artist, starting with the EVENTORI team a little over two years ago. I got to know the product, which was only about a year old at the time, and worked on improving its interface, establishing a Design System, and supporting development.

I also created isometric stadium visuals for our clients, used in ticketing and app configuration. In parallel, I collaborated with the Marketing team to produce visual content. Then I assisted the PAXONE team in designing their Design System and interfaces. Later, I began contributing to CAYZN and CAYZN Tracking.

In a short amount of time, I worked on many different topics, which made it difficult to keep track of and master everything at once. Since the Design Systems for the other products were already well-established, and I had started working on CAYZN, a fairly complex product, it was decided I would focus solely on that.

I then joined the CAYZN teams full time as a Senior UX/UI Designer. I now take more time to think through interfaces, refine mockups, and sometimes imagine different versions to explore more options and choose the best one. These various projects allowed me to work on very distinct interfaces with different user profiles, where display priorities vary. It required me to adapt and reframe my approach each time.

Besides designing prototypes, I also try to raise awareness and familiarize teams with using Figma, offer UX/UI best practices, and tailor them to the specific needs of our products and users. Sometimes, compromises must be made between what’s most comfortable to use and the user's actual needs.

I also ensure consistency between prototypes and developed interfaces, and I track and manage updates related to CAYZN’s new design. Recently, I’ve also begun supporting Morgane, who has joined EVENTORI to continue its development.

Morgane Nurdin, UX/UI Designer for EVENTORI

Morgane joined Wiremind in December 2024 as a dedicated UX/UI Designer for EVENTORI. Below, she shares her insights on the importance of communication in her role, how UX/UI is helping win over clients for EVENTORI, and what she’s learned since joining the team.

A Day in the Life of UX/UI Designer at Wiremind

What is a typical day like in your work as a UX/UI designer at Wiremind?

Right now, my days are mainly focused on creating mockups for the new front office of EVENTORI’s ticketing platform.

On a typical day:

  • I work on the current sprint tickets, usually ahead of the developers, so that they have all the necessary elements to start their sprint in good conditions.
  • I’m in constant communication with the Product Owners to ensure that user needs are well considered in my designs.
  • I also stay available for the developers to ensure that what’s being developed closely matches the mockups.

Communication: Her Key for Success

How do you approach balancing the needs of our customers with business and technical constraints?

It’s sometimes a delicate balance to strike, but my top priority is always the user experience. That said, we manage to make very good compromises thanks to smooth communication between teams. Dialogue is essential to align expectations, technical constraints, and business goals, while keeping the user at the center of decisions.

An Eye for Making an Impact

Can you think of a time when great design decisions directly impacted EVENTORI’s success?

A good design decision that comes to mind is the redesign of the ticketing website. This redesign will allow EVENTORI to meet a wide range of user needs while offering a smoother and more immersive purchasing experience.

Beyond improving the user experience, this redesign also had a direct business impact: it strengthens the platform’s image and makes it easier for us to win over new clients.

Growing through Experience

How has your understanding of user experience evolved since you joined Wiremind?

Since joining EVENTORI, I’ve discovered a much broader and more heterogeneous range of users than I was used to. This has pushed me to refine my research methodologies and be even more rigorous in analyzing specific needs. I’ve also learned to better anticipate issues related to very targeted usage scenarios.

What has been a particularly meaningful challenge in your design journey here?

One of the biggest challenges has been (and still is) structuring a solid design methodology within the EVENTORI team. The goal is to lay down sustainable foundations, create clear processes, and ensure that design is fully integrated into the product lifecycle. It’s a foundational task, but a very rewarding one.

UX/UI at Wiremind: Driving Growth & Customer Satisfaction

As Wiremind continues to grow, our user-first design philosophy remains foundational. Our approach, as detailed by Doriane and Morgane, is defined by user-centric thinking which is integrated into each stage of our products’ lifecycles.

Anecdotes shared by Doriane and Morgane highlight how user-informed design decisions can translate into business value, from creating seamless ticketing experiences for EVENTORI to consistent, scalable design systems that support products like CAYZN.

From their stories, it’s clear that when designers are given the space to lead, experiment, and refine their skills across multiple product teams, growth and innovation will naturally follow.
